Toulouse, November 23, 2023 - Ascendance, a manufacturer of eVTOL (hybrid vertical take-off and landing aircraft) and aviation decarbonization solutions, partners with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) to accelerate the development of carbon-free aerial mobility internationally.
This agreement marks a new milestone for Ascendance, expanding its impact across the global aeronautical ecosystem by offering a truly sustainable alternative for aerial mobility. This collaboration allows the Toulouse-based start-up to actively contribute to Abu Dhabi's emergence as a global capital of advanced aerial mobility, aiming to find a less carbon-intensive and more regional alternative for air transport.
Located in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi’s Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industries (SAVI) hub offers testing facilities, large-scale workshops, and advanced research and development laboratories, all within a cutting-edge regulatory framework. This industrial hub is designed to create and manufacture applications for transport and aerial mobility, all connected by Abu Dhabi’s global logistics network, fostering the region's development. In this context, Ascendance, as a major player in decarbonized aviation, presents its hybrid-electric eVTOL - ATEA - providing an opportunity to create new aerial routes within the United Arab Emirates on a regional scale. This collaboration will also explore how to leverage Abu Dhabi's existing industrial ecosystem and ATEA's service partners.
